Effective  7 November 2017, I am resigning as the President of  the Lakeland 55 HOA. BOD. It has been a pleasure serving you for a year, but now it is time for someone else to take over.I truly look forward to seeing my grandchildren very soon.

DEAR FELLOW PROPERTY OWNERS. A NEW ANNUAL MEETING WILL BE HELD ON 3 NOVEMBER 2017.AT 6:30 PM AT THE CLUBHOUSE.  THE PREVIOUS ANNUAL MEETING WAS DECLARED NULL AND VOID BY THE ASSOCIATIONS LEGAL COUNSEL. I HAVE SENT EACH OF YOU A LETTER WITH A PROXY FORM. IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU GIVE ME YOUR PROXY. THERE ARE SOME RESIDENTS WHO WISH TO CLOSE THE LAKELAND 55 COMMUNITY POOL. A MAJORITY OF YOU USE THE POOL AND IT IS AN IMPORTANT ASSET IN OUR HOMES VALUE.IT IS AN IMPORTANT SELLING POINT.I PROMISE YOUR PROXY WILL NOT BE USED ON ANY VOTE THAT WILL INCREASE YOUR YEARLY DUES.

DEAR RESIDENTS

PROJECTS COMPLETED UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF THE CURRENT BOD IN THEIR FIRST YEAR:

  1. SAVED THE HOA $8200.00 BY ELININATING THE SUBCONTRACTOR POSITION AND THE BOARD MEMBERS ASSUMING THOSE DUTIES AT NO CHARGE.
  2. SAVED THE HOA $3780.00 BY USING VOLUNTEER WORK.THE STANDARD VALUE OF 1 HOUR OF VOLUNTEER WORK BY CHARITIES COUNTRY WIDE IS VALUED AT $18.00 PER HOUR.
  3. THE VOLUNTEER PROGRAM WAS SUCESSFUL DUE TO THE EFFORTS OF JOANIE AND JEFF DARBY AND BOBBIE LAMBERT.
  4. THE POOL OPENED ON TIME. THE SECUTITY SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED INCLUDING THE ISSUE OF KEY FOBS. THE POOL PASSED INSPECTION BY BALDWIN COUNTY.
  5. SAVED THE HOA $9800.00. THE GAZEBO WAS PAINTED BY VOLUNTEERS.MIKE PERRIN BUILT THE CUPOLA AT THE TOP OF THE CAZEBO AS A GIFT TO ALL OF THE RESIDENTS. HE ALSO REPAIRED THE GAZEBO ROOF.
  6. A MISSION STATEMENT WAS CREATED BY THE BOARD.
  7. HELD A SUBDIVISION WIDE GARAGE SALE BENEFITTING ALL RESIDENTS WHO PARTICIPATED.BOBBIE LAMBERT CREATED THE PRETTY FLYERS AND SET UP THE ADVERTISING.LOU ALAMAN HAD THE GARAGE SALE SIGNS MADE.CARRIE CHANDLER ARRANGED FOR THE SALVATION ARMY PICK UP OF DONATIONS AND TAX RECIEPTS FOR THE DONATIONS.
  8. CREATED HOSPITALITY SACKS FOR EVERY RESIDENT. THE SACKS CONTAINED A COPY OF THE COVENANTS, BY LAWS, AND NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH INFORMATION.A BOX OF COOKIES WERE ALSO IN THE SACKS.THE SACKS WERE PACKED AND DELIVERED BY YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD VOLUNTEERS.
  9. BOBBIE LAMBERT HAS GOTTEN LAKELAND 55 ON THE COUNTY AGENDA FOR ROAD RESURFACING IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
  10. SAVED THE HOA $1200.00. LOU ALAMAN CLEANED UP AND DISPOSED OF THE OLD FLOORING PRIOR TO CARPETING. HE ALSO PUT THE OFFICE FURNITURE TOGETHER FOR THE NEW BUSINESS OFFICE.
  11. DIANE ALAMAN PHOTOGRAPHED AND PERSONNALY MET WITH THE COUNTY ON THREE OCCASIONS, THE SUBDIVISION WIDE ROAD SINKHOLES AND STORM DRAIN REPAIRS WERE ACCOMPLISHED IN A TIMELY MANNER.
  12. A CLUBHOUE RENOVATION PLAN CREATED BY CATHY FOSTER IS IN THE PROESS OF BEING DEVELOPED.

VICE PRESIDENT JO BOSWELL IS DEVELOPING A PLAYGROUND AND FAMILY PICNIC AREA PLAN FOR THE POOL AREA.

14.SAVED THE DAM AND YOUR PROPERTY VALUES.FIXED THE DAM EROSION,THE SPILLWAY AND INSTALLED A SEA WALL SAVING THE EROSION AROUND THE CLUBHOUSE.ALL OF THIS WITHOUT  A HOMEOWNER SPECIAL ASSESSMENT AND NO INCREASE IN YEARLY HOMEOWNER DUES!SAVING THE DAM WAS A CULMINATION OF OVER 5 YEARS OF PLANNING AND EFFORT. IT IS THE RESULT OF EFFORTS FROM PEOPLE LIKE DR. WATERS OF AUBURN UNIV, ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES AND FINALLY THE TIRELESS HARD WORK OF FELLOW RESIDENT JIM DUFF. JIM HAS OVERSEEN THE WHOLE PROCESS AND WE ALL OWE HIM A DEBT OF GRATITUDE.

  1. THE WEBSITE WAS UP DATED AND KEPT CURRENT.THE WEBSITE E-MAIL LINK IS NOW WORKING. A COMMUNTIY BULLITEN BOARD WAS INSTALLED AT THE POOL AND HAS BEEN KEPT CURRENT; MANY SIGNS WERE UPDATED AND REPLACED THROUGHOUT THE SUBDIVISION. THE BOAT RAMP HAS ALSO BEEN REPAIRED.

ONCE AGAIN I WANT TO SAY THANKYOU TO MY WONDERFUL BOARD FOR ALL THEIR HARD WORK.

AS OF 15 SEPTEMBER 2017 THE SWIMMING POOL IS CLOSE FOR THE SEASON. IN THE OFF SEASON WE WILL BE DOING REPAIRS TO THE POOL.YOUR KEY FOBS WILL NO LONGER WORK.THEY WILL HOWEVER BE RE ACTIVATED AND WORK WHEN THE POOL OPENS NEXT YEAR, YOU WILL NOT NEED A NEW KEY FOB NEXT YEAR,


IN THE LAST MONTH YOU HAVE STOPPED 3(THREE) BURGLARIES IN LAKELAND 55. THE LOXLEY POLICE WERE QUICK TO RESPOND, AND YOU HAVE PROVEN THAT WATCHING OUT FOR YOUR NEIGHBORS REALLY PAYS!!!!!!!
