A SPECIAL THANK YOU!

A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO MIKE PERRIN!!

Mike hand built and installed the new cupola on the Gazebo. It is beautiful and makes the Gazebo look a like wedding cake.Mike worked hard and saved the HOA $900.00.Mike would not accept any money for his work.He said the cupola is his gift to all of the residents. THANK YOU MIKE !

DANGER AT THE POOL

We have had our pest control company out at the pool to spray for FIRE ANTS.He reports that they are a species of flying fire ants.He stated that they are flying in from another area.He will continue spraying. These ants bite .they are fire ants. There is a skimmer at the pool if you see ants in the pool use the skimmer to get rid of them.Remember there is no life guard. The Lakeland 55 Pool is swim at you own risk!We continue to make every effort to insure the pool is clean and safe. Take care if you or your children see fire ants.Fire ant bites are painful and can be lethal to a young child. Please use caution as these ants could continue to appear until August. Our only other choice is to close the pool for the season. This situation is out of our control. This season started off so smoothly so this is a pity.

Just a reminder I will be at the clubhouse tomorrow Wednesday 14  June at 6 pm, I will be issuing key fobs at that time. Remember you will need  your drivers license, your lot number and a check for $25 to get a fob.The fob is permanent.

With Best Regards  to all!

STREET REPAIRS

Adams Homes

26050 Equity Dr. Suite A

Daphne, AL. 36526

Attn: Mike Ginn, Representative for the building of new homes in the Lakeland 55 subdivision.

Dear Mr. Ginn,

Per our conversation this morning re:  damage the subcontractor driving a truck to remove large trees from a building site on Masada Ct. This large heavy vehicle backed over two storm drains crushing one and severely damaging the second,( photos attached). The Baldwin County Engineer, Mr. Frank Lundy, was out to inspect the damage. The damage to the drain in front of the Brown residence extends approximately 12 feet down with a large crack in the pipe; a barrier has been placed in front of the drain by the county to prevent further damage.

The house construction site uphill from the Browns had been cleared and graded, to include a large pile of red earth to be used to further grade the property. Strong rain storms this week caused the earth to erode and clog the drain causing flooding. This caused the Brown’s property at 16082 Masada Ct (lot 129) to be flooded. Their front yard, side and back yards were flooded. The Browns are understandably upset. This mud and flooding could have been avoided by simply installing a cofferdam at the construction site.

In the meantime another Adams subcontractor delivering concrete to the site backed onto the Brown’s property, damaging their driveway. Several neighbors reported seeing the trucks damaging the driveway and the storm drains.

This lack of care and supervision of Adams Subcontractors is shameful. Significant damage has been done to the Brown’s property.

Mr. Ginn, I met with your building supervisor,”T Bone”. He promised that the problems of mud and flooding will be solved by laying sod on the Masada Ct, property. He will also ensure the mud and rocks will be cleaned up.

After this meeting I met with the Browns and the other affected homeowners to reassure them the problems were being resolved.

Mr. Ginn thank you for addressing and solving this problem. I am very grateful for your time and help in this matter.

Very Sincerely,

Diane Alaman

President

Lakeland 55 HOA.

I personally spent Thursday 25 May 2017 with the Baldwin County Highway Department and Adams Homes making sure that the damaged storm drains on Masada Ct and Lakeland Dr will be repaired.Bill Meyer the Maintenance Supervisor has us on the schedule, the repairs will be started in approximately 2 months. As a result of this visit and discussion with Adams Homes sod is being laid and the Masada Ct area will be cleaned.

Has anyone noticed how bright and white the Gazebo looks.A huge THANK YOU to all the volunteers who came out on Saturday May  13th to paint the Gazebo. This giant project has both beautified Lakeland 55 and by volunteering, your neighbors have helped save money.
